The Hotel has attracted Residents since the late 18th Century when it became the Summer Lodgings of Lady Emma Edgcumbe, and later the home of Antarctic Explorer Admiral William E Parry.
To this day The Mount Edgcumbe retains many of its original Regency features. The hotel and restaurant stands surrounded by 250 acres of picturesque common land, making The Mount Edgcumbe a popular choice to dine, socialize and rest your head.The Historic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is an ideal place for Holidaymakers.
The Mount Edgcumbe, being full of history, is also a stones throw away from the world famous Pantiles and natural spa that gave the town its name.The surrounding areas are scattered with interesting places to visit, from stately homes and formal gardens to steam railways and castles, all which are only a short drive from the hotel, in Tonbridge Wells.
The town centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells is a few minutes walk from The Mount Edgcumbe. Here you will find a wide range of shops, cafes and the Royal Victoria Shopping Colonnade. There are also two theatres in the centre, which host many different productions all year round.

The Sun has finally appeared, albeit a few rainy days in August, the trees around us are magnificant.
You can sit out in the garden and feel the warmth of the sun.
In the evenings we have added some heated Parasols to enjoy the garden further.
However we have drawn up an excellent Christmas Menu for December for those who are organising Office / Work / Family Meal.

We do not offer our diners disco’s or Live Music. Just a superb location & atmosphere to enjoy one of the best Christmas meals in the area.

Word is spreading fast, and many customers are now returning for Great Food! And to enjoy one of our Succulent Steaks, dig into some Fajitas or devour a a great Salad all prepared by our New Internationally Experienced Head Chef.
Jumping into 2010 we celebrated the turn of a new Decade with a great New Menu along with which is Headed up by International Chef with many years Professional Experience creating culinary delights, and more recently working locally as a relief chef for a number of local restaurants. Our chef has a great deal of experience in cooking Steaks to just how you require, thus many people are returning on a regular basis. We are Serving Freshly Made Meals. Made with Loving Care as True Professional Chefs work.
These New Mature Experienced Chefs have listened to what our Customers want, and like, thus they have put together one of the Best Menu’s for dining in Tunbridge Wells to suit all from the Discerning diner to those who are on a Budget.
This summer there is now, a new wider fresh choice on our Menu’s. Such as those wanting that special Intimate Dinner for two up to a Birthday Celebration. The extensive Bar Meal Menu, includes Steaks cooked to perfection, Snacks, Baguettes, Lights Bites & Salads, where the food represents great value for money, and can take you away from the formal dining in the Restaurants to eating in the Cave or the sheltered Garden with Huge Parasols and heaters.
